One of my favourite cakes, it was a dream come true doing this cake. I was part fashion designer, part cake decorator. I would really love to do this in a series, you know…. Marie Antoinette in different hairstyles and ballgowns!
Made this cake for the daughter of my very good friend, Su-Anne. Su-Anne was one of the first few friends I made when I went to Secondary school and we’ve been firm friends ever since. She was also my bridemaid when I got married. To make this cake all the more special , I hid an added surprise in the top tier….a rainbow cake.
Dad’s Adjective Cake February 10, 2014
If I had to choose one word to describe my dad, I would say….kind. Dad has the softest of hearts, something we kids took full advantage of growing up …. getting away with almost anything. Dad hardly scolded and I will always remember him apologising to me for having given me a huge scolding.
Thankfully, I do not have to describe him in just one word because Dad is also a loving, humorous, patient ,wise, devoted, fun and caring father.
Hannah’s Cake February 9, 2014
When my good friend Joyce asked me if I could create a cake for Hannah and then proceeded to tell me Hannah’s story, I couldn’t help but be amazed by this woman’s bravery and tenacity. You see, Hannah fell 4 storeys down a lift shaft. I cannot imagine the pain and trauma that she must have gone through. To have survived that is nothing short of a miracle!
The flower filled arches on the cake is my take on The Gardens By The Bay which holds special significance for her.
